Project Overview
Working with Bethany Cemetery Association and Story + Reason, I designed the environmental interpretation of east Austin's Bethany Cemetery. Through the use of interactive panels, visitors can now learn about the history of the cemetery and the lives of those who rest there.
These panels include: historical themes important to the community; a map to help situate visitors and explore notable landmarks; a timeline documenting the development of the cemetery; and a series of grave markers with QR codes. Upon scanning, visitors can read more about the individual who rests there.
The creation of the interactive panels was made possible through support from the City of Austin Economic Development Department’s Heritage Preservation Grant Program.
